Alchemy Unplugged’s history

2001 • Daren and Lisa Nicole met and became “Alchemy Unplugged”.

2002 • Alchemy Unplugged entertained for casinos, pubs, corporate parties, private parties and weddings.

2002 - 2003 • Featured act for 2 years running, for the Hamilton Street Festival, and one of the City of Burlington’s favourite groups hired for their “Summer Concert Series” program.

2003 • 20 radio stations across Ontario played Alchemy Unplugged’s beautiful rendition of O’ Holy Night on regular rotation and the group performed for over 1000 people at the City of Burlington’s New Year’s Eve celebration as their featured act.

2004 • Vintage Vocals Label was born after purchasing a full studio and CD duplicating and printing equipment. Recorded a full Christmas album that was publicly applauded and played on 60 radio stations across Canada, including “Christmas Eve”, which was written by Daren. 

2005 • Became the very first ORCA-approved (Ontario Retirement

Community Association) band.  Also created the Ad Music and Keepsake CD

concept.  Changed their name from Alchemy to Alchemy Unplugged, to incorporate the Au symbol for gold.  (Note: Alchemy means turning lead into gold and Alchemy unplugged abbreviates to Au, which happens to be the symbol for gold.)  Christmas album is still being played across Canada.

2006 • Slowly infiltrated the Chapters/Indigo bookstore chain.  Jeremy Cammy, the National Marketing Director, hopes we will remember him when we win a Grammy!

2007 • Played weddings, corporate parties and private parties!!  Yay - fun easy year!

2008 • Daren got side tracked on a science project... feel free to email him about it!  It has to do with converting the greenhouse gas CO2 into diamond dust used by the abrasives industry.

2009 • The Au Show - wow check it out!  A great gift for gramma or grampa!
